When visiting Manu National Park, special permits are required and the groups must be led by a qualified guide that only Local Trekkers Peru offers. There are unscrupulous travel companies that offer tours to the reserve at low prices, however, these agencies do not have permission to enter the park and therefore you cannot enjoy all the splendor that is offered.
The Manu was declared a National Park in 1973, designated a World Biosphere Reserve in 1977. It is one of the largest protected areas in South America.
Where lives a great biodiversity of flora, fauna and a number of indigenous tribes who have never had contact with outsiders also continue to live in the Park.
